This charming Advent calendar unfolds to a square to stand on its own, and inside, you are meant to place a source of illumination –– it could be a tea light or a battery powered candle. The light within will serve to illuminate the glittery Nordic scene of frosty pines and Tomten, the Norse helpers who live near farms, as they watch the stars and light the trees and help deliver presents. Incredibly charming. If using a tea light candle, be sure to burn only while attended. Made in Germany by the Korsch Verlag Company; they began making Advent Calendars in Munich in 1951. Ships flat, but pops up to a four-sided structure open at the top and bottom, with each panel measuring about 8" tall and 6" wide.
