A really big Advent calendar! 23 1/2" tall x nearly 12" wide. Tomten are old characters from Norse folklore; they are small helpers who live near farms and homes... a bit of a house gnome and a bit of Santa Claus combined. In this nighttime scene, several Tomten share the joys of Christmastime. This Advent Calendar is one of several from our Nordic Tomten Collection by artist Eva Melhuish. Brightened with silvery glitter. Made in Germany by the Korsch Verlag Company; they began making Advent Calendars in Munich in 1951.
