Tomten are old characters from Norse folklore; they are small helpers who live near farms and homes... a bit of a house gnome and a bit of Santa Claus combined. This Advent Calendar is one of several from our Nordic Tomten Collection by artist Eva Melhuish.  Brightened with just a hint of silvery glitter. Made in Germany by the Korsch Verlag Company; they began making Advent Calendars in Munich in 1951. About 12" square.
