ScandiKitchen Christmas: Recipes & Traditions from Scandinavia, by Brontë Aurell
Let Brontë Aurell of The ScandiKitchen Café show you how to celebrate your Christmas Scandi-style as she shares her delicious recipes and family traditions with you.
Anyone who has ever spent time in Scandinavia in December will know that Scandinavians really love Christmas. From huddling up in candlelit snowed-in cottages to consuming warming cups of glögg at every opportunity, Christmas is peak hygge season throughout Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, and Finland. Everything reverts back to tradition once the First Sunday of Advent comes along and the festive season begins.
From saffron scented bakes to “gingerbread spice in everything!”, Christmas is the time to break the never-ending northern darkness with edible treats and joyful gatherings. So here you will find recipes for festive smörgåsbord parties where family and friends, young and old, celebrate with a spread of traditional dishes and delicacies, plus dishes for Advent gatherings, plenty of ideas for edible gifts, recipes for traditional dinners on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and julbord feasts for the days between Christmas and New Year.

N.B.: This is a stunningly beautiful book, but when you receive your copy, you may open it and think the paste downs (the printed sheets of paper that attach the textblock to the covers) are scuffed or marked... but the scuffs and marks are exactly the same in every copy we have, so it seems to have been a design decision. And odd one, perhaps, but it does seem intentional.
