Traditional Mezzaluna Chopper, from Italy

The Mezzaluna (that's Italian for "half moon"), named for the curved shape of its blade, is a culinary favorite when it comes to quick, efficient chopping. Strong beechwood handles make it easy to grip and use while keeping hands away from blades. It’s great for chopping garlic and herbs, chocolate, nuts, pizza, and more. It's a classic Italian kitchen tool. We use a mezzaluna when we chop all the fresh parsley that we add to the dough when we make mambricoli. The mezzaluna makes short work of an otherwise very intensive task. 

Rock the mezzaluna back and forth to quickly mince whatever food you’re working with. Rock blade side-to-side to chop tender items; use an up-and-down motion to chop larger, more dense items; continue to mince until desired texture is achieved.
