A beautiful and richly detailed nighttime scene. Handmade from carved and turned wood and hand painted by artisans of the Graupner Workshop in Crottendorf, in the heart of Germany's Erzgebirge Mountains. The workshop, noted for their bold use of color, is run by Kordula & Ronald Graupner and their 15 employees. This ornament is just about 3" tall x 3.5" wide x 1" deep, with a cord for hanging. (Though it's not depicted in the photo, sometimes they place a little fir tree in this scene, too. Not always, but sometimes.)
