The Kaiser's Guard is one of our vintage German nutcrackers made by the Steinbach company. They made nutcrackers by hand for seven generations in Germany's Erzgebirge Mountains, where wooden nutcrackers first originated. Steinbach nutcrackers are dense, heavy, and exquisitely made. The Kaiser's Guard is stout and chubby with a bell and sword and a lovely hat with golden wooden beads. He stands about 13" tall and is signed by 6th generation maker Christian Steinbach.
