This may be the most unusual German nutcracker we've found. He is a vintage (circa 1980s) German nutcracker––in fact, the "Expertic" label on the bottom reads Made in German Democratic Republic (in German), so this piece is a rare souvenir of pre-unified Germany days. Handmade from carved and turned wood and painted in natural tones by artisans in Germany's Erzgebirge Mountains, where wooden nutcrackers first originated. He comes in his original vintage box––the box is not necessarily pretty, but it is original, so we feel it may carry some importance. We love the star in his crown. Stands about 14" tall, and he can take on just about any nut that comes his way. Handmade in Germany.
