Krampus with Basket o' Children Earrings, Handmade in Detroit

  • 1850

We're not crazy about the invasive iguanas that roam our yard, eating the plants in our vegetable garden, but we are rather fond of the good folks at The Divine Iguana in Detroit, Michigan. They make these elegant yet delightfully quirky earrings by hand, pair by pair, in their home studio. This pair of Krampus earrings features the dark companion of St. Nicholas who travels with the good saint each year on St. Nicholas's Eve, December 5. In German tradition, it is Krampus's job to deal with the kids who have not been so well behaved. So you'd better be good, lest Krampus stuff you in his basket and carry you off! This pair is one of three different Krampus earrings we offer from our Divine Iguana friends.

Reverse decoupage glass cabochon earrings in elegant antiqued brass findings. Nickel-free brass ear wires and backs. The image area is about 5/8" or 16 mm: about the size of a dime, and these earrings dangle about 3/4". Boxed pair of two. As these are handmade, expect some variations from one pair to the next.
