Shaker Rose Water
This regal rose water has a delicate flavor and aroma that is especially good with apple recipes. Rose Water is an old, old flavoring dating back to the Ancient World. It is wonderfully mysterious. And of all the products the Sabbathday Lake Shakers sell to support their Community, their Rose Water is their all time best seller. It truly is regal.
We include four Shaker recipes; the Shakers recommend it in place of vanilla, especially in apple recipes. Try it in fresh whipped cream, cream frosting, or homemade ice cream. We add Shaker Rose Water to our French Toast batter to make it really special, and it is the featured flavor in the Three Kings' Cakes we make each Twelfth Night and Epiphany, for it is a flavoring the Magi would have known. We use it in our baklava each Christmas, too.
Shaker Rose Water can also be used in perfumes, salves and balms (my dad liked to mix rose water and glycerin to soothe his winter-chapped hands), or in a mister as a room freshener or laundry fragrance when you iron.
Shaker Rose Water is made with two simple ingredients: Distilled water and rose flavor. No alcohol. 4 fluid ounces.
The Sabbathday Lake Shakers have been making Rose Water for nearly 200 years. This vintage flavoring is their most popular product. Established in 1783, Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village is the only active Shaker Community in the world. It is America's oldest religious Community.
