Victorian Bat Brooch, Handmade in Detroit
We're not crazy about the invasive iguanas that roam our yard, eating the plants in our vegetable garden, but we are rather fond of the good folks at The Divine Iguana in Detroit, Michigan. They make elegant yet delightfully quirky jewelry there by hand in their home studio. Here is a Victorian illustration of a bat in a simple, steampunk / vintage inspired brooch with a bronze setting. Perfect for Hallowe'en or any magical mysterious night throughout the year.
About the size of a quarter, which makes this brooch not quite as large as most items you'd call a brooch, but the bronze setting definitely takes it a step above what you'd call a pin. So... we're sticking with "brooch."
Reverse decoupage glass cabochon. This brooch is 1 1/4" wide (as we said: about the size of a US quarter); the image area is 3/4". Gift boxed. As these are handmade, expect some variations.
