German Candies: Mozart Kugeln by Schluckwerder
Here's the perfect little sweet for all the special Valentines in your life: each of these candies starts with a rich hazelnut nougat center. This is surrounded by layers of pistachio marzipan and traditional almond marzipan. This is then dipped in fine milk chocolate, and then comes a second dip, in fine dark chocolate. The delicious treat is then wrapped in foil with a portrait of the famous composer who was born in Salzburg, the same city where this recipe was first created. Poor Mozart never got to taste these wonderful candies (the recipe was created in 1890), but we're sure he would have loved them as much as we do.
