Preparing for Easter, by C.S. Lewis

Preparing for Easter, by C.S. Lewis

  • 1999

Here are fifty devotional readings from C. S. Lewis, author of The Chronicles of Narnia, that are designed to take us on a journey through Lent in our preparation for Easter.

Most fans of C.S. Lewis know him as the greatest defender of the Christian faith in the twentieth century, but what many miss is that one of the reasons his works remain so powerful is because his arguments are accompanied by his inspiring, ennobling, and compelling vision of the Christian life today. This collection reflects this latter role in his works: how to live the Christian life, especially in light of the culmination of Jesus's work, which we now celebrate as Easter.

Preparing for Easter is a collection of beautiful gems discovered amidst Lewis's essays, poems, letters, and other works that are not as familiar to most of his readers. But all of them serve the purpose that pervades Lewis's work: the goal of going "further up and further in" in our relationship with God.

Hardcover, with dust jacket. 213 pages. 2017.
