Compostable Sponge Cloth: Milagro

Compostable Sponge Cloth: Milagro

  • 625

Sometimes you need a milagro (a miracle) to get the kitchen clean. These reusuable sponge cloths are an excellent means toward that end! Pretty, fun, and an eco-friendly alternative to paper towels––one of these cloths will handle the work of 15 rolls of paper towels. Great for doing the dishes and for wiping up spills, they soften when wet like a chamois cloth and are super absorbent. Use them over and over again for 3 to 6 months, and when it's time to toss them out, they can go right in the compost bin. Fully biodegradable. Machine wash, or wash by hand or even in the dishwasher; if stained, soak in water with just a splash of bleach. 70% cellulose, 30% cotton. 6.5" x 8".

We have matching reusable cloth bags, as well, and a new tea towel! Bestow them all together for a lovely present. (You might include some of our handpainted tin heart ornaments from Mexico to continue the theme.)

These sponge cloths are made in Germany, and then hand-printed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, by the artisans at Kei & Molly Textiles. We love their woman-owned company for more reasons than we count: they use eco-friendly inks in their shop and filter waste water to keep pigments out of their local water system; they operate almost completely on solar power; they create good jobs for immigrants and refugees in their community and sponsor the Kei & Molly Scholarship for immigrant students at their local high school. Theirs is a company driven by love, and that, we think, is the best way to run a company.
