Milkboy Alpine Milk Chocolate with Crunchy Caramel & Sea Salt Bar, from Switzerland

  • 350

It's no secret we've been on a chocolate kick here at Convivio Bookworks lately, and here's another delicious chocolate bar we've found, this one from Switzerland, with a story that relates to the Drive Down Days we tell you about each September in the Convivio Book of Days Blog:

Each spring, the cows ascend to the pristine mountain pastures, and each fall, they return to the villages in the valleys, decorated with bells and flowers, accompanied by the Milkboys on their journey down the mountain roads. It is this procession that is captured in the beautiful imagery on each bar of Milkboy chocolate. The original artwork for the printed wrapper was created by Swiss paper cut artist Esther Gerber.

The Milkboy brand dates back over 100 years to a small dairy in the Emme Valley in the Swiss Alps. The combination of exceptional Swiss alpine meadow milk with finest quality cocoa beans from some of the world's best and most sustainable sources is what makes Milkboy chocolates so delicious.

This single bar of milk chocolate contains a minimum of 33% cocoa and a minimum of 24% whole milk solids. 1.4 oz bar (40 g). Made in Switzerland. UTZ certified: the cocoa beans used by Milkboy are certified to be grown responsibly through sustainable farming practices. This particular variety, with crunchy caramel & sea salt, was the 2018 Sofi Gold Award Winner: The Specialty Food Association's top prize for chocolate... one of three awards Milkboy has won so far.

Ingredients: Sugar, whole milk powder, cocoa butter (Rainforest Alliance certified), caramel pieces 10% (cane sugar, whole milk powder, butter, glucose syrup), cocoa mass (Rainforest Alliance certified), sea salt, vanilla pods, sunflower lecithin (emulsifier). Contains milk. May contain hazelnuts, almonds, and peanuts. It is April 18 as this message is being posted. and the window for shipping chocolates this spring is rapidly coming to a close. Most likely we will stop shipping chocolates by the end of the month.
