German Christmas Pyramid: Night Watchman & Bird

German Christmas Pyramid: Night Watchman & Bird

  • 18200

One of Germany's most enchanting Christmas traditions is the candle-lit pyramid, which families often place in the front window of their homes for passersby to see. Here, a cheery night watchman and his bird companion stand before a wooden building flanked by two fir trees in town. The watchman and the bird and the scene all stay put as the rising heat from the candles causes the propellor to rotate. Natural finish wood with hand painted details. This pyramid uses tea lights, rather than the traditional pyramid candles. Two tea lights included, but we also sell German tea lights (in tin cups) for your pyramid. Handmade by artisans of the Christian Ulbricht Company; they've been making handmade wooden goods in Seiffen, in the heart of Germany's Erzgebirge Mountains, since 1928. About 8" tall x 7" wide.
