We had our first taste of Nói Síríus Icelandic Chocolate this past winter, and immediately knew we had found one of our favorite chocolate bars. And then we tried these: WOW! If you love chocolate and licorice each on their own, well... this is like nothing you've ever had before. Icelanders really love combining chocolate and licorice. One taste and you'll know why. It really is an amazing combination of flavors and textures. Imagine a chewy ball of licorice, covered in a thick layer of excellent milk chocolate, then dusted in licorice powder. You'll try one out of curiosity... and then you'll want another, and another. And perhaps another.

Nói Síríus is Iceland's favorite chocolate. The company, based in Rekjavík, has been making chocolates and other candies in Iceland since 1933 (their chocolate recipe has remained unaltered since then, too).

Good to know: the Icelandic word for "delicious" is ljúffengur, and the Icelandic word for "chocolate" is súkkulaði. The old vintage Síríus label pictured on this page depicts cows in Iceland; Icelandic milk is thought to be some of the finest in the world.
