Pure Bookbinding with Instructor John Cutrone, May 4, 2025
Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 11 AM to 2 PM; $125 tuition includes all materials, including a letterpress printed limited edition book, in sheets
This introductory book arts workshop will provide you with some solid bookbinding know-how as you learn the techniques behind a series of non-adhesive binding structures. Beginning with the basic yet incredibly useful Single Signature Pamphlet Stitch, we will progress to a Double-Signature Pamphlet, then on to a decorative chainlink stitch binding. One of the books you’ll bind and take home is a limited edition: a story called Putting Up Mangoes, letterpress printed from handset metal types by the instructor with a linoleum cut by Seth Thompson. The common element? These are all books that require simple materials: paper and thread and nothing more. It is bookbinding in its purest form. All levels; no prior experience in bookbinding is necessary.
Please be sure to include your email address when checking out, so we may send you workshop information in advance of the workshop.
