German Springtime Pyramid: Cats

  • 18300

One of Germany's most enchanting Christmas traditions is the candle-lit pyramid, which families often place in the front window of their homes for passersby to see, and now the artisans of the Erzgebirge are making pyramids for springtime (and this one is good for all the other seasons, too). Features three little kitties under a pine tree –– one black, one white, one brown, with flowers painted on the pyramid's framework. There's a bowl of milk and a ball on the base, with two more little trees.

This pyramid is handmade by the artisans of the Richard Glaesser Company in Seiffen in the heart of Germany's Erzgebirge Mountains. About 8" tall x 6" wide x 5" deep. All elements are hand turned, hand carved, hand painted (though this pyramid features mostly natural-finish woods). The rising heat from the burning candles causes the propellor to rotate, resulting in the magical motion. Includes two tea lights, and we sell the German tea lights year-round so you always know where to find them (though any standard tea light will do). Do not burn unattended; light candles only in a draft-free location.
