Shaker Culinary Herbs: Herbes de Provence

  • 1000

Brother Arnold Hadd at the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Community is a master of the grill, and his secret is to rub Shaker herbs on meats before grilling. The result is always an amazingly flavorful meal. This favorite and traditional blend is wonderful on chicken, lamb or beef. You can also add this blend to olive oil to baste fish and seafood. Also great with tomato based dishes and chowders. Thyme, savory, basil, rosemary and lavender, packed in a metal tin. 1.3 ounces.

The Sabbathday Lake Shakers' herbs are grown in gardens more than 200 years old, dried in a facility built in 1845, and packaged in tin canisters just like their forebears throughout the 1800s. Established in 1783, Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village is the only active Shaker Community in the world. It is America's oldest religious Community.
