Shaker Herbal Teas: Camomile

  • 1100

This calming camomile tea is packaged in metal tins by the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Community in New Gloucester, Maine. They first began selling herbs and teas in 1799. This camomile tea has an appley taste and is just beautiful to look at. We used to bring a tin every now and then to the fellow who ran our favorite old bookstore in Maine. "Thank you," he would say in his quiet Maine accent. "They sure do make the best camomile tea there at Shaker Village." He was right. 1.4 ounces.

Shaker Camomile Tea has an apple-like taste. It's a great nightcap with calming properties. Peter Rabbit was fond of it! Mrs. Rabbit brewed him a cup to soothe his upset tummy.

The Sabbathday Lake Shakers' herbs are grown in gardens more than 200 years old, dried in a facility built in 1845, and packaged in tin canisters just like their forebears throughout the 1800s. Established in 1783, Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village is the only active Shaker Community in the world. It is America's oldest religious Community.
