Any longtime reader of the Convivio Book of Days blog will know how much we love a good bonfire here. At auspicious occasions throughout the year, particularly around the solstices, we can usually be found in our backyard with a fire burning in the copper fire bowl. We do this on Walpurgis Night as April becomes May, and we do this on St. John's Eve at Midsummer, and many times throughout the Yuletide season, especially on chilly winter nights here in Lake Worth (and yes, we do have them).

These bonfire starters are the perfect way to get your celebratory outdoor fire going in your copper fire bowl, or for your bonfire. This is a boxed set of four bonfire starters made with soy wax, cedar boughs, and foraged herbs and botanicals. And sometimes you don't even need an auspicious occasion; sometimes it's nice to just get the comforting smell of woodsmoke in the air and in your hair and sweater. Of course we mean outdoors only.

There are 4 bonfire starters packaged in each box. American made. The foraged botanicals in your bonfire starters may not be exactly like the ones you see in the pictures on our website, but they will be close. The box is recyclable and the shredded paper in which the bonfire starters are set is compostable.

TO USE: Set your firewood in your fire bowl or wherever your bonfire will be. Set one of these bonfire starters, still in its paper wrapper, beneath the stack of wood but accessible so that you can light the wick. Once it's in place, light the wick. CAUTION: Use only for burning outdoors. Keep out of reach of children. Do not light while holding. These are NOT candles or wax melts. As with all products that create a flame, take care in use.
