No one necessarily needs a candle snuffer... but a snuffer sure does make the task of extinguishing candle flames more satisfying. It also cuts down on lingering smoke, as candles are extinguished immediately (rather than leaving blown-out wicks to smolder and smoke). We use a snuffer at our house, and we highly recommend the practice.
