German Christmas Ornament: Jester
One of the long standing Yuletide traditions is the Feast of Fools, in which the normal order of things is ceremoniously reversed. In old royal courts, the jester might just end up as the king for the Feast of Fools. And in this spirit, here is a jester for your tree. Hand carved from wood and painted by artisans in Germany's Erzgebirge Mountains. He stands just about 3" tall.
