Polish Nativity with Kraków Town Hall Clock, Miniature
Kraków Szopki are a Christmas tradition originating in Kraków, Poland, dating back to the 19th century. These nativity scenes are handmade by Polish artisans in brilliant colored foils and crystals. In these nativity scenes, the Holy Family is always placed in the midst of the historic buildings of Kraków.
This is our smallest Kraków Szopka, a miniature with arched entryway, stars and Swarovski crystals. Includes a ground-level courtyard of checkered silver, on an elevated golden wall with a diamond design. Under its arched doorways is the Holy Family and above, a star. Above them, the three spires of St. Mary Basilica, each topped with a round ball. There is a balcony surrounded by a gold railing. The spires of the nativity end with the Polish flag on the two outer ones and the Polish Eagle in the middle.
This handmade treasure measures 5" tall x 3" wide x 1 1/4" deep. The colors in the nativity you receive may not match the colors seen in the photo, but they will definitely be the rich brilliant foil colors that are traditional in Polish Nativities.
