This series of necklaces feature her handmade pendants, formed in clay and raku-fired. Raku is a traditional Japanese low-fire ceramics technique in which the glazed pieces are fired quickly in a kiln, then shocked by removing them from the kiln whilst still red hot and plunging them into a combustible material like sawdust or newspaper, and from there, into water. The result are glazed ceramic pieces that are crackled with carbon lines.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach of these pendants hangs on black cord that closes with a metal clasp... some of the cords are leather, some are satin-silk.
