Shaker Culinary Herbs: Brother Arnold's Pork Rub
Brother Arnold Hadd at the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Community is a master of the grill, and his secret is to rub Shaker herbs on the meat before grilling. The result is always an amazingly flavorful meal. This is his signature blend, which is so wonderful on all kinds of pork: pulled pork, loin, barbecue, tenderloin, roast, chops and ribs. Sage, marjoram, rosemary, parsley and thyme. Rub liberally over olive-oil coated cuts of pork before cooking. .9 ounces.
The Sabbathday Lake Shakers' herbs are grown in gardens more than 200 years old, dried in a facility built in 1845, and packaged in tin canisters just like their forebears throughout the 1800s. Established in 1783, Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village is the only active Shaker Community in the world. It is America's oldest religious Community
