Handmade Journal: Write Here, Letterpress

  • 1900

Our friend Emily Hancock makes these journals at her studio in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. These letterpress printed, hand sewn blank books encourage you (or the folks you give them to) to WRITE HERE (which, let's face it, is good advice).

The jackets are sturdy Canson cover stock in your choice of three colors: Cobalt, Cinnamon, or Sage. Emily letterpress prints each in transparent ink using early 20th century wood type: WRITE is printed on the front, HERE is printed on the back, and punctuation marks are printed on each inside flap: an exclamation point on one side and an ampersand on the other.

Inside, you'll find 48 blank, unruled pages of Mohawk Superfine heavyweight text stock — excellent for writing or sketching. Emily sews each journal by hand with thick linen thread in colors to match the jackets. 8" tall x 5" wide (closed), with a slim profile to fit into a purse or bag... or just to carry around, so you are always ready to Write Here.
