Wedding Music Box with Crank, from Germany
Here's a bridal couple in a lovely bower scene that also happens to be a music box: The hand-cranked Sankyo mechanism plays a lovely rendition of Mendelssohn's "The Wedding March." While the music plays, the happy couple slowly rotate.
Handmade from carved and turned wood and hand painted by artisans of the Graupner Workshop in Crottendorf, in the heart of Germany's Erzgebirge Mountains. The workshop, noted for its bold use of color, is run by Kordula & Ronald Graupner. About 4" tall x 2 1/4" wide x 2 1/4" deep.
