In Harmony with Wood by Christian Becksvoort

  • 3000

Chris Becksvoort crafts exquisite handmade furniture at his workshop in New Gloucester, Maine. He is also a contributing editor to Fine Woodworking magazine and the author of the Taunton Press book The Shaker Legacy: Perspectives on Enduring Furniture Style. (Did you happen to catch his appearance as himself in NBC's Parks and Recreation?) This broadside features a poetic philosophy on the craft of woodworking, with Chris' own beautifully detailed illustrations of trees in winter: Sweet Gum, Black Cherry, Persimmon, and Bald Cypress. Printed letterpress on Mohawk Superfine paper in an edition of 175 on the occasion of a reading at the Shaker Library at Sabbathday Lake, Maine. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Shaker Library Endowment Fund. Signed by the author. 7 1/2" x 12 1/2", 1998.

Available framed in wood, matted under glass: $75. The frame is a simple design with clean, elegant lines. Specify frame finish: Cherry, Black, Natural or Honey.
