Advent Calendar: Gingerbread Heart
This one is all about the kids, but for us, the star of the scene is the big gingerbread heart, a traditional symbol of Christmas in Germany. To be certain, that same gingerbread cookie is the final door to open when Christmas Eve arrives. Glitter throughout the scene. Made in Germany by the Korsch Verlag Company; they began making Advent Calendars in Munich in 1951. Illustrator: Fritz Baumgarten. About 15 1/2" x 11 1/2".
